I bought this book to help my wife get over her fear of being bound and placed into small areas during the act of lovemaking and when I tire of her blather. After using the methods described in the text, I ended up lashing her to my work desk with burlap twine, but one end of the twine ended up getting caught up in the ceiling fan and she was thrown clear across the room. This tipped over my work desk and spilled some very important papers concerning my World of Warcraft guild resources all over the floor. It took my wife hours to sort through the papers, and with a dislocated arm to boot.
Obviously I’m not a very happy camper right now and I think we’ll stick to our rubber hats, ear funnels, and pudding slaps.

The pictures and steps in this book are excellent. However I was somewhat disappointed by the books content which concentrates more on the authors own style of rope work rather than more traditional shibari rope ties I was expecting. If you are after more intricate knots and ties and not the traditional shibari then this book is excellent. However if you want to learn the more traditional shibari ties perhaps look elsewhere. It’s a well done book but depends on what particular style of rope work meets your needs.

Good presentation, easy to follow layout, clear illustrations. Overall a good book for those interested in experimenting with both decorative rope work as well as entry level bondage. Good cost to value return for your money.

This is a marvelous book for step-by-step creation of some wonderful rope art fun! A must-have for the Alaskan Long Winter’s Night. No cabin fever here!
