However I was somewhat disappointed by the books content which concentrates more on the authors own style of rope work rather than more traditional shibari rope ties I was expecting. If you are after more intricate knots and ties and not the traditional shibari then this book is excellent. However if you want to learn the more traditional shibari ties perhaps look elsewhere. After using the methods described in the text, I ended up lashing her to my work desk with burlap twine, but one end of the twine ended up getting caught up in the ceiling fan and she was thrown clear across the room. This tipped over my work desk and spilled some very important papers concerning my World of Warcraft guild resources all over the floor. It took my wife hours to sort through the papers, and with a dislocated arm to boot. Obviously I'm not a very happy camper right now and I think we'll stick to our rubber hats, ear funnels, and pudding slaps.
